I completed the Master of Social Work degree at Florida State University, where studies included clinical mental health, and aging.

Post-graduate training included 3 years at the University of West Florida Counseling and Psychological Services. Responsibilities at CAPS included client intake, individual counseling, group therapy, biofeedback, and crisis counseling; as well as leading a meditation program and conducting outreach. Outreach presentations included stress management skills, understanding personality, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy skills for graduate student interns.

Internships at Florida State University included work in flood recovery case management – assisting survivors of flooding in Pensacola; and at Pathways for Change – working in substance abuse recovery.

Additional training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and I am an EMDR trained therapist.  I will be leading a training for counselors titled Mindfulness bootcamp: Skills for counseling and psychiatry.  Recently, I have counseled UWF students as an OPS Counselor at CAPS.
