“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Victor Frankl
I strive to provide a compassionate, and supportive environment that facilitates hope and healing. I have passion and experience helping clients with concerns such as depression, anxiety, health diagnoses, social anxiety, grief, trauma, anger, substance abuse, relationships, teen behavior, and men’s issues.
I specialize in using insight-based and cognitive-behavioral methods. Together these seek both solutions and understanding. Sessions will always be tailored to the client and her or his goals. An initial intake session can help clarify what those goals may be. I believe counseling is a time-limited, not indefinite, process. I am committed to affirming diverse people and groups.
I have advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness based interventions, and am an EMDR trained therapist. More information about me is here.
My practice focus is with adults and teens. Counseling for children younger than 12, couples, and families is not available. Individual counseling may be a useful adjunct to couples and family work.
